The Energy Case

The Energy Case is a hopeful action-adventure game, aimed at students in the Netherlands. The game is set in the pollution filled harbour city, Deeprun, in which you solve the murder of doctor Antward Formic. Troughout your investigation you are forced to make hard decisions about your energy usage and the world you want to live in.

Goal

The case gives players the experience of being able to make a difference in the energy transition. This is valuable, because people get discouraged by the amount of negative news, amount of damage to the climate, and the seemingly lack of options in the transition.

The Message

The game centres around a message against pollution. The game tracks how much the player pollutes and where they invest their skill points.

Based on the actions of the player, in all aspects of the game, the game responds and shows them the effect of how much the player pollutes while they play the game.

Release

The Energy Case will release a demo in Q4 2025 and chapter 1 will release for PC in Q1 2026 on Steam.
